The Municipality of East Hants and the Hants Regional Development Authority (Hants RDA) have formed a unique partnership and established a project office in Kennetcook called the East Hants Regional Project Office.
One of the goals of the East Hants Regional Project Office is to reinvigorate Kennetcook’s traditional role as a regional commercial hub and to identify new and dynamic opportunities in the tourism, cultural and business realms.
This project offers unique prospects for developing public, private and community partnerships. Kennetcook is a central, vibrant, living community. It has a rich history, strong community presence and spirit, and the vision and commitment to move forward and welcome the future.
The Kennetcook Regional Development Plan has been developed and links the culture and heritage of Kennetcook area with new and innovative approaches to business development and creating rural infrastructure in the recreation and tourism sectors.
The project office worked with the community, through the Kennetcook Society for Economic and Environmental Development (KSEED), to develop the plan and will continue to work with them throughout it’s implementation. KSEED was established by members of the Hants North region who believe that developing the economic and cultural bases of Kennetcook and the surrounding communities will ensure continued prosperity for the future.
